One week from Sunday, the Battleground pay-per-view will undoubtedly see several superstars pick up major wins ahead of SummerSlam. However, sometimes it's the loser of the match who sticks in your mind long after the night is over—and that could well be the case in several of the matches on the card.
One match that's certain to have its fair share of stars who fall short but have great showings is the Battle Royal for the now vacant Intercontinental Championship. A multi-man match like this can only have one winner, but there's ample opportunity for several competitors to show off their talents.
Expect Cesaro to be one of the talking points once all is said and done. The sudden resurgence of the Great Khali would suggest he's only in the match so that Cesaro can pull off some feat of strength—a canny move if that is indeed the case.
The bubbling feud between Dolph Ziggler and Fandango is also likely to rear its head again in the Battle Royal. With Ziggler's in-ring skill and Fandango's excellent character work, the two make a very entertaining pairing. Hopefully, we'll see a few singles matches between the two with less of a focus on the Summer Rae/Layla storyline.
However, the wrestler who has the most potential to turn heads in the Battle Royal without coming out on top is Bo Dallas. Perhaps unexpectedly, Bo's transition to the main roster from NXT has been developing rather nicely. Whereas a character such as Adam Rose is taking a little bit more time to connect with the audience, Bo's shtick gets better every week—seemingly with live crowds as well as the Internet.
